Unknowing
"Unknowing" explores the undoing of things that no longer serve us; of returning to a state of simplicity and purity when nothing else works. I remember the time I finally peeled off some heavy layers that were no longer serving me in my life. This made me feel neutral and still....and this color combination felt so "right" at the time I painted it. This belongs to the "Threshold" phase. It almost feels like a space of solitude.
Surge
"Surge" expresses relief after overcoming a big change or milestone. It symbolizes life transformations - when one has been riding the waves of change and finally lands on the beach to rest. I am in awe of the ocean's power; I love watching how the water moves effortlessly, creating its own artistic patterns as it dances. This lightweight scarf features an exclusive print from an abstract artwork, blending blue hues, greens & whites to create a dramatic water scene using mixed media to create a feeling of surging water.
New Day
When you see this artwork and read the title "New Day" what messages or meanings come up for you?
As part of the “Threshold” phase, this was painted to express the emotions right after a major transformation.
Some transformations can be gradual and barely realized, whereas other transformations can be sudden & dramatic.
Flow
"Flow" is a reflection of movement without force. It's unfolding in its' own flow. It depicts the emotions of impending change - where movement meets stillness, where blue meets green to create harmony. I painted this when I was approaching a big milestone which was hard to face & I knew I needed to accept it and flow with it.
Beginning
As part of the "Threshold" phase, "Beginning" is expressing the experience of fresh & positive transitions. Everyone experiences this at least once in their lifetime. I painted this to celebrate a close friend's new chapter as she embarked on a life adventure. She is a force of nature in her own right and this was her "energy" at the time.
Presence
"Presence" explores the concept of oneness. It beloengs to the "Threshold" phase. The light colors hint at internal clarity & awakening. I painted this to try and express my inner essence. My essence feels safe, airy and serene. This is the first artwork I painted where I did not think or have an image of what I wanted to paint.
